Celtic have managed in the last couple of weeks, weekend results notwithstanding that is, to lose the leadership of the SPL to Rangers and actually fall four points behind their Glasgow rivals at the same time. Depending on the home result against Hamilton on Saturday afternoon, the game at Kilmarnock could prove to be vitally important in Celtic’s efforts at regaining the SPL this season from bitter rivals Rangers. In the nine games the Hoops have played away from Parkhead, they have won five, drawn one and lost three of their games.
Kilmarnock, for their part, have a game away to Dundee United at the weekend before they take on Celtic. The team are sitting in second last position in the SPL table with thirteen points, just one point ahead of bottom placed side Falkirk who have twelve points. Prior to the weekend fixture, Kilmarnock’s last game was a 2-1 home defeat to Falkirk.
