In their last game before the Christmas break Real Madrid entertained Real Zaragoza at the Bernabeau. As things turned out, they couldn’t have given their fans a much better Christmas present. The Galactico’s really turned on the style in a 6-0 romp; the first half finished 4-0! Two goals apiece from Higuain and Van der Vaart settled the scoring in the first half, while Ronaldo and Benzema finished of the rout for the team from the capital.
The result was more than just three points for Real though; the plus six goal difference added to their total means they have equalled Barcelona's plus 27 for the season so far. This could play a huge part come the end of the season and Real know that rivals Barcelona are more than capable of knocking big wins together themselves.
For their part of proceedings, Ossasuna come into the game against Real on Sunday on the back of a 2-0 away defeat to Athletic Bilbao last time out. The defeat meant they fell one place to twelfth in the table and they have sixteen points to their name. At home they have played seven games so far, winning two, drawing two and losing three, while scoring just seven times while conceding eight.
