Championship side Reading are not having the best of seasons so far in the league. They are currently in nineteenth position and have 23 points to their name. Their home form has been very poor with just one victory from twelve games played. They have also drawn six of these.
Although not expected to seriously challenge Rafa’s Reds on Saturday, Reading will nevertheless try to put up a great performance for what promises to be a sell out crowd. One thing they won’t want to happen though is to feel the force of Rafa’s team who are due a big performance.
Liverpool have also not been enjoying the best of season’s in the Premier League. From an initial target of fighting for the title, they are now fighting just to try and secure a top four position and at the moment are five points off the coveted position. They did manage to win at the weekend though, beating Wolves 2-0 at Anfield with goals from Steven Gerard and Yossi Benayoun.
Before the game on Saturday, Liverpool have a very important away league fixture on Tuesday evening away to fourth placed Aston Villa; a match that will go a long way to determining Liverpool’s aspirations for the rest of the season.
